Job Description – Director of Operations

Reports to: CEO

Hours: Full or part-time hours will be considered, 26 – 37 hours per week.

Salary: £50 – 65,000 FTE per annum depending on skills and experience

Direct reports: Operations Executive, Administrative Assistants

Location: Noa House (Golders Green)

Closing Date: 30th June 2022

Holiday entitlement: (Taken in hours) 28 days FTE including bank holidays, plus Jewish holidays when Noa is closed

General Description

Noa Girls provides emotional, practical and therapeutic support to adolescent girls aged 12-24 from the London Orthodox Jewish community. Noa girls receive care, support and skills to enable them to regain their self-worth, empowering them to lead healthier and more productive futures.

Noa is seeking a Director of Operations to oversee all of the operational and administrative processes of the charity. The successful candidate will work alongside the CEO and Senior Management Team to execute Noa’s vision, put procedures and resources in place to manage the organisation’s rapid expansion. They will have an analytical and creative vision to grow the organisational structure and will be able to work to enact those changes both independently and as part of a team. Ideally, they will also have experience working at a senior level within a team.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of all aspects of Noa’s operations policies and practices and ensure smooth running of the operational team
  • Oversee Noa’s HR and recruitment function and help develop and implement the organisation’s strategic aims in this area
  • Create and roll out processes and systems to enable Noa to grow as an organisation and increase its service
  • Take the lead on new operations-related projects, working alongside other departments within Noa
  • Plan and oversee the additional resources needed to enable sustainable scale up of the organisation including the roll-out and customisation of a fundraising CRM
  • Work together with Finance Director to ensure the development and delivery of Noa’s processes for financial planning, control and reporting.
  • Managing premises and other related issues, including taking on the role of primary liaison to the development project committee and working with them to facilitate the Noa building project.
  • Coordinate the production of board papers and ensure that governance and compliance processes are effective

Person Specification

Knowledge and Preferred Experience

  • Experience of working at a senior level within a team
  • Experience and knowledge of strategic planning and evaluation
  • Experience and understanding of HR and compliance and of financial management systems
  • A high level of IT literacy (essential) and experience of CRM and database management (preferred)
  • An efficient, organised and methodical approach to work
  • Experience within the third sector is preferred, but not vital.
